My families roots come from the North East of America where I was born. I was brought west to California, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.

After studying art and languages in the University of California at Santa Cruz and finally at UC Berkeley I spent some time working in Saudi Arabia, then followed a three year program in Graphic Design study in Germany.

Moving from Germany to New York City in the 80’s I worked as a graphic designer there for 6 years, then moved to London with my partner and continued freelancing as a graphic designer there while beginning to raise a family.

After London, we lived in Maine, then settled in California in 1998, in addition spending an interim four years in The Netherlands.

In Amsterdam, from 2011 to 2015, I continued to create graphics and promotional materials but changed my main focus to painting the things I feel most inspired by.

At the moment those things are my children and family (portraits); and the cliffs, rocks and forests of the North Atlantic coast of America, California beaches, and Yellowstone National Park. I have also done some large flower paintings from my photos of the Dutch fields and gardens.

Please enjoy my paintings, there will be more and different inspirations added as I make them.
